The purpose of this test is to observe the behaviour of dye in water. If our robot is to create ‘drawings’ in a tank of water using dye or paint, the movement and dispersion of the colour in the water is important.
Undiluted food dye worked the best. It disperses in the water, but not too fast. It does not sink to the bottom in a blob like the acrylic paint and clear mediums did.
The white gesso formed interesting blobs in the water, but these would only be visible from above, as they fall very quickly.
The sparkles are interesting as they tend to self-organise together like a mosiac.
Our task for today was to create a wall-wide-web of interconnected people and things. Each person in the group contributed their identity as a node in the web with answers to a set of common questions forming the “web of things”.
String connections were made between people and their answers to questions. Same answers to questions were connected also.
As you can see the web quickly became complex.
The result is a series of one-to-many relationships, combined with loops of connected ideas which span many individuals.
